Chapter 8
The small word
The regime received vital information about advanced nuclear technology, and thanks to France’s intercession at the UN, Spain became a tolerated regime in the western world. It looked as a good deal. Just looked.
France wasn’t getting rid of 40 tons of nuclear wastes. France was getting rid, forever and in a place far from their borders, of 686 toxic corpses. With this plot they sealed their demons under tons of concrete and at very far from home.
After the first two weeks, just after the outbreak, the scientists tried to understand what had happened to those people, and why you could only kill them shooting them at their brain. Why Noëlle Lumiere, a 15 year old girl, was able to run 200 meters possessed by an animal rage while they were shooting her? And that not only didn’t stop her, she was able to dismember 2 soldiers. Bare handed. What the fuck made Charles Piaf, a 72 years-old pensioner, being able to walk without his wheel chair and decapitate a policeman… all that after receiving six bullets to the chest?
The studies couldn’t get any answer, only more questions. The “Montmartre Law” was the solution of the government to what happened that day. The first nail in a coffin of silence that would end with the remains of the infected buried in the center of Spain.
